The iconic Smile pendant was designed around the principle of Kintsugi, the Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with gold so the break becomes the most beautiful part of the object. Set into a coin the size of a fingertip, the crack runs through the centre of the face in gold, with garnet filling the gap instead of hiding it.
Designed and made by celebrated goldsmith Kasun Ekanayake, whose collections have won three Goldsmiths' Craft and Design Council Awards and been worn by Cara Delevingne, Jenna Ortega,Halsey, Kendall Jenner, Krysten Ritter, and Maisie Williams.
Made of 18K Gold Vermeil on Recycled Sterling Silver the pendant is 19mm wide, with six delicate garnets embedded, bridging quality and dramatic presence.
